The Friends welcome your donations of books and other library materials for use in our ongoing book sale (proceeds support the Library.) We gratefully request that you consider whether items are desirable and re-sellable when choosing whether to donate them. Please note items that we CANNOT ACCEPT:
* encyclopedias or textbooks
* VHS tapes
* especially books that are musty or smoky (!)
As fellow book lovers, we understand that it is very difficult to deem any book as “trash”. However, when unsellable books are donated, it creates heavy load (both literally and figuratively) for our hard-working volunteers. To be truly helpful to the cause, your critical review of the books to be donated before bringing them is much appreciated. A look at what is for sale on the shelves will give you a good idea of what kinds of materials are desirable and re-sellable.
Friends used book volunteers work hard to receive, weed and sort all of the generous donations. They restock the shelves daily in order to have a continually updated selection of used books and other materials for sale – the kind of sale we all love to shop! This sale – in the lobby near the meeting rooms – remains available whenever the library is open. In addition, the Friends also conduct special seasonal book sales; watch the Library website and social media for announcements.
